Last night I finally downloaded The Coventionist app for my iPod Touch. The app was recomended by the folks at Penny Arcade and by the hive mind on Twitter. Turns out that this is a first-rate bit of code that I believe will be indispensible to the JPS crew at PAX.

If you're going to a major con, PRAY that the guide is made available on Proxima Labs' The Conventionist app for iPhone and Android. Seriously, it's super awesome, and makes it a hell of a lot harder to miss that panel you have your heart set on.

The free iPhone app includes a full, interactive schedule for each day of the expo, a map of the convention center and the ability to browse through both while offline. Which is fortunate, since large crowds of tech-savvy people have a tendency to wreck your phone's 3G functionality.
